Busan: Annual Fireworks Festival

Turns out, we aren't the only people in Korea who like fireworks.

These are my 3 favorite shots. . .

 "temporary galaxies"

the finale

And this...

I would really love to write a beautiful, slightly romantic story
about how I watched the fireworks on the beach, glass of wine in hand. . .
or on an abandoned roof-top with my ladies.
But, nope.

After squeezing through literally thousands... and thousands
 - very possibly millions of people.
We found our friends.
Then I watched the show while sardined between a MASS of Korean people.

My least favorite of which were pushing the ENTIRE time.
and those who weren't pushing, were taking 2983756293 pictures with their cell phones
and/or taking video on their cell phones the entire time, like so. ^

I can understand very easily,
wanting to capture some of the amazing explosions...
but 90% of everyone seemed to be watching the entire show
through the crappy quality lenses of their 5 inch cell phones...

Sadly, no matter how hard I tried, I did not enjoy watching the show.
I was so busy being stressed out that everyone was shoving
and I wasn't very good at ignoring the 8 cellphones directly in my face...

I ended up feeling totally angry and bitter.

I'm really glad that I got some great shots,
so i can appreciate them as you are now. . .

I'll tell ya,
it ended up being an amazing weekend,
but somethings about korean culture continue to infuriate me.
